Laurent hesitated, thinking for a minute before he began to talk. His story was halting at first, with nerves clear in his voice and frequent pauses as he figured out how to recount the story. He wasn't at all accustomed to recounting anything, having never had anyone to listen to his stories and thoughts. Not since he had been a child, at least.

As he continued talking, he started to relax into it, telling one story after the other as they spilled out of him, as he finally had someone to talk with. The things he noticed and cared about in the opera house were all the small, lovely things, and he cared deeply for the safety of the inhabitants, especially preventing harassment and assault.
