Laurent's eyes widened at Damen's statement that he could not have chosen better. He'd been certain that Damen deeply regretted his choice, or that at best Damen found him tolerable. The praise that Damen could not have chosen better was... unbelievable.

He blushed at the praise, stunned by the way that Damen admired him. Damen was so careful and respectful, and yet so appreciative, and it made Laurent want to bask. "Are you going to?" Laurent asked, his smile coy and playful.
