"I do need a new wardrobe," Adam said, though he couldn't yet afford it. He hated the second-hand t-shirts and patched jeans that he wore, but anything more was a luxury expense. The thought of going shopping with Izzy and having her decide that he needed a very fashionable makeover sounded like fun, if Adam's new income was going to be anything like what Alec had hinted at.

"I like your company. And I don't mind if you want to get a book or your reports. I don't know how much interest you have in pre-law or engineering." Adam pulled a face which then relaxed into a smile. He loved his studies, and wanted to do well at them.
