"Not really," Adam said, and then didn't explain. He didn't want to talk about Blue with Alec. The whole thing still just felt frustrating and like he'd failed, and Adam hated feeling like a failure.

It surprised him that Alec was willing to leave the Institute and risk getting into danger just for a date. But Adam liked that, too, knowing that their relationship was that important to Alec and that he wanted it to be special. He smiled a little, thinking about going to the opera or the ballet with Alec, both of which were foreign experiences for Adam. "I'd like to go out on dates with you. Do you have ideas of what we could do?"
