"Thank you." He didn't want to ruin this by having his parents or anyone else at the Institute commenting on what was going on between them. He'd already started noticing the hostility that some of the Shadowhunters felt. Alec had known it would happen and he refused to let it change who he was or who he wanted to be with, but he didn't want that extra pressure on both of them as they tried to figure out what dating meant to them.

"Uh - we can, but I think it'd be awkward if we plan it." Kissing seemed to be something that should be impulsive. As soon as he said it, he assumed that Adam would take it the wrong way. "I want to.
