Adam noticed quickly that while his hands were on Alec and that seemed to be appreciated, and while the kiss was mutual, Alec was still careful not to touch.

Pulling back a little, Adam withdrew his hands, doubting himself and what was okay between them. He didn't go far, still wanting to lean into another kiss, but he wanted to make sure he wasn't missing something.

"It's okay to touch me," Adam said, hoping it was only the permission that Alec lacked, and not the desire. He swallowed, trying not to let his nerves overwhelm him.
