It was difficult to think at all while their hands were still connected, and Adam was hyper aware of Alec's hand cupping his own, while Alec's other hand petted the caterpillar cupped in Adam's hand, brushing against Adam's skin in the process. He felt light-headed with the strength of his sudden infatuation, and completely at its mercy.

He struggled to regain his logical sense. Alec's hand was warm and steady. Adam wasn't sure he could remember how to form words, and with every passing moment he became more painfully aware of how beautiful Alec was.
