“Forensic pathology,” Wei Wuxian replies, very cheerful about it. “I’m interested in the ways that bodies themselves tell us about death, and how we can use that in conjunction with classic cultivation techniques to help solve murders and calm spirits. Modern forensic pathology disdains traditional cultivation, and the other way around. There’s been so little research into combining the disciplines. I think we ought to be seeking the science behind where resentment pools in the body, and why. No one knows anything about the physical processes that result in a fierce corpse.”
