It was rainy season in Cloud Recesses, where the dragons of the Lan clan make their home in Gusu. One of the brothers, the Twin Jades, the sons of the sect leader, is Lan Wangji. He is famed for his guqin playing with notes so sweet, the clouds gather above his jingshi, his house to make rain or snow whenever his guqin calls for clouds to gather.
As of late, he noticed his chickens and eggs from the chicken coop is missing as well as a few crops of fruits and vegetables from his garden in the backyard. A few times, he noticed a few of his prized rabbits are missing and he cannot find them. Thievery is not unheard of in the village, but everyone knew each other like family within the clan.
It was rumored they spotted a fox scavenging and hunting in his backyard and is the suspected culprit. Where they last have seen the fox, the sly thief often disappeared into the woods and lay in hiding. The constant rain of the season leaves puddles on the ground, making the mud, and he found fox tracks in an area where he took a wild guess where he lived
That's when the dragon, Lan Wangji went hunting for the fox himself. He laid traps and nets over the trees and bushes with freshly cooked chickens as bait in an attempt to capture him. The fox could be anywhere in this part of the woods, but if he fell for the bait, the traps should work.
