Laurent laughed. "You know, I do have a very nice gown that might fit you," he said, eyes sparkling with mirth. "Your shoulders are a bit broad for any of my tunics, however."

Nodding, he sighed and sat up. "Tomorrow, my rooms. Tonight--we should at least get a wet cloth so that my skin doesn't get irritated. Since we're evidently going to keep doing this as frequently as possible."

Gansey grunted in agreement as he sat up as well, hair standing at odd angles. Blinking, he scrubbed his hands through the mess, which resulted in wisps of hair settling across his forehead.

"I'll call for some soap and towels," he yawned as he stretched his arms over his head lazily. "They won't think anything of it. I do most of my own cleaning up here." Glancing at the areas they'd been in the room, he bit back a laugh.

"Which, actually, may be true as well. We made a mess of more than just ourselves."

It wasn't a lot, but there reminders of their love, droplets on the floor and down the side of his desk that he hadn't noticed in the heat of the moment.

Biting at his lower lip, Laurent grinned, amused by the devastation. "I'll help you. Once the room stops spinning."

He crossed his legs, resting his arms on his knees and trying to recover. Warm with satisfaction, he shot Gansey a grin. "Soap and towels would be a good place to start. Might want to make sure you take that collar off before you interact with the servants, though."

"Oh."

Eyebrows flying into his hairline, he touched the collar, glancing down though he couldn't exactly see it. Truthfully, he'd almost forgotten he'd been wearing it.

"That would get around the castle faster than an orange at a full moon festival," he mused. While he liked the idea of people knowing how very much he belonged to Laurent, he didn't like the idea of his mother learning about what kinky sex her son was having. And she would find out.

"Take it off for me?" he asked, lifting his chin to give Laurent access. "Only you're allowed, after all."

Laurent grinned at that, reaching out to hook a finger under the collar to pull Gansey in for a kiss.

"Good," he murmured against Gansey's lips. "Because you're mine."

Unlatching the collar, he lifted his own chin as well, expecting Gansey to return the favor.

"Mm," he agreed, stealing another kiss while he had the chance. The loss of the collar left him feeling a touch bereft; he liked having something on him that proved that they were lovers. Not that he could very well walk around the castle wearing a collar. Some things were better left in the bedroom, away from prying eyes.

Teasing the collar around Laurent's neck with his fingers, "Oh? But you don't have to talk to the servants." Tone playful, he wiggled a finger underneath, "Maybe I'll keep you like this forever." Even as he said that he unlatched it, freeing Laurent of the restraint.

"People might start to wonder if you kept your fiance locked away in a tower," Laurent teased in return. "I can't say I'd mind, though. If you kept me plied with books and wine, that is."

Stealing a quick grope, Laurent swatted him. "Go on, before we get distracted again."

Gansey laughed joyously, "Have you forgotten that we still have a third round to go?" With a wink he stepped away, laughing as he went, making to call for some towels to wash up with.

It didn't take long for the maid to bring him a bucket of water, a bar of soap, and a stack of towels. She asked several times if he was sure if he wouldn't like some help, that she'd happily scrub his floors or anything else he wanted, but he responded in good humor that he had only spilled some ink on himself and the desk and that it was his duty to clean it up.

With everything safely in arms, he came back into the room and closed the door with his foot. He'd tossed on some trousers for the maid earlier, so he pulled them off once more so that he could properly scrub clean.

"Want me to wipe you down?"

"Yes," Laurent said, staying on the bed and watching as Gansey pulled on the trousers and went, and then returned and stripped them off again. "I don't think I can take a third round. Shall I beg for mercy from my lord and master?" Laurent smirked, sweet and wicked as he watched his lover. He didn't bother to move, enjoying the view far too much, combined with a natural laziness and a history of having servants to tend to his whims and clean his messes.

"I think that maybe you should," he bounced back, bringing it all to the bed and sitting down on the edge, "before I have my way with you again."

The water was hot, still steaming from being heated, and felt incredibly good against his skin when he dipped the soap and rag inside. "Come here." Not worried about getting the sheets wet because they needed a good wash anyway, he dragged the hot rag across Laurent's belly, wiping away remnants of semen and sweat.

Laurent moved close, kneeling with his thighs parted and reaching for Gansey. He rested his hands lightly on Gansey's chest, skimming them over his skin. "I like it when you're commanding. It makes a thrill go through me." Utterly trusting, he moved as Gansey directed him, eyes always flicking back to Gansey, his anchor. "My prince."

"Do you?" That was an interesting note. With a smirk he continued to wipe Laurent down, glancing up from his work every so often.

"Truthfully, I like commanding more than obeying." Which may have been obvious from how they quickly flipped roles. He brought the rag up to Laurent's chest, wiping across it. "And I like having you beg me like that. My Laurent."

Leaning forward, he pressed a soft kiss against his lips.

Laurent returned the kiss, sweet and adoring, all smiles as it broke. "I knew you liked commanding. It comes very naturally to you. Far more naturally than it does to me. It suits me more to yield, though only when I'm with you. No one else shall have my willing and pliant obedience." He smirked at that, tilting his head to kiss Gansey's cheek. "I beg your mercy, my lord. You've worn me out entirely."

The mischievous sparkle in his eyes said he wasn't quite as worn out as last night, but the plea was performed prettily enough nonetheless.

Gansey snorted, knowing full well what that sparkle meant. "It won't be long before you're too worn out to even utter those words," he said, ruffling Laurent's hair with good humor. Now that they had a better feel for what they liked it would be easier to focus on the act rather than the getting there. Not that they wouldn't continue to experiment, of course.

Dipping the rag again into the bucket, he began wiping himself down, cleaning down his belly and between his thighs. It wasn't as good as a bath but it would do.

"What would you like to do tomorrow?"

"I might like to visit my favorite stable groom," Laurent joked, lounging back on the bed and watching as Gansey cleaned himself. He propped his head on his hand, shamelessly enjoying the show. "And Butternut. Although we should probably make an appearance at the court. And you, at least, need to speak to your sister."

"Talking to Helen won't take long," Gansey figured, not minding giving Laurent as much view as he wanted, "as long as she's in a good mood. Or unless she decides that she wants to bond with you. She'll be your sister-in-law, you know." Much as he didn't want to share Laurent, it was for the best if he and Helen got along.

"I think visiting Butternut is a grand idea. I bet she's been lonely. And likely to pop at any second." At the thought of mingling at court he wrinkled his nose but merely shrugged, "And I guess we can make face at court. Only proper."

Dropping the rag into the bucket, he stood, grabbing a pair of soft sleep pants and dragging them on. Then, flopping onto the bed with a boyish grin, he demanded, "Spoon me."

Laurent reached for him, hugging an arm around Gansey's waist and kissing him, instead, because that seemed to him like the more urgent priority. Smiling against Gansey's lips, he nuzzled the tips of their noses together. "I didn't bring any spoons," he said, voice warm with playfulness and just earnest enough to make it unclear as to whether the term meant something different in Vere.

"Oh? Do they not spoon in Vere?"

Eyebrow cocked, "I'll have to show you, then." If Laurent was going to play naive, Gansey had no problem playing teacher. Closing the distance between them, Gansey stole another soft, lingering kiss. Then another. Kissing Laurent was quickly topping his list of favorite things to do. His hand slid down to rest on Laurent's hip.

"Turn away from me, and I'll cup up against you. We'll fit like spoons. Clever, right?" His eyes sparkled with amusement. "I wanted to feel you against my back, but I don't mind being the big spoon."

Laurent felt warm with affection, loving the playfulness of Gansey's teasing. He obeyed, turning onto his side and nestling back into Gansey's arms.

"A brilliant Raven Kingdom invention," he said, grinning happily. "I love having you against my back." Shivering slightly, Laurent hugged Gansey's arm possessively. "Love feeling your breath against my neck. I love you."

When Laurent nestled back against him, he draped his arm over his waist, tugging him close and resting his face into the curve of the other man's neck. Their bodies fit together like they were made to.

Gingerly, Gansey pressed a kiss to where he could feel Laurent's pulse, just barely flicking the tip of his tongue over the spot. "I love you too," he exhaled, closing his eyes as he basked in Laurent's scent. "So much. My precious, darling Laurent. I can't wait until you're officially my husband."

It was such a comfortable position, Gansey knew at once that he could fall asleep that way. It was amazing. It was likely that he'd wake up and peter about the room, maybe read a book at his desk until Laurent woke and realized he was being restless, but even falling asleep for an hour at a normal time was a luxury.

Voice laced with drowsiness, "Will you ever take me to see Vere?"

"Yes," Laurent murmured, smiling with contentment at the drowsiness in Gansey's voice. He laced their fingers together, bringing Gansey's knuckles up to his mouth, breath and lips brushing over the skin as he spoke. "I want to show you off. My father and brother will love you. Vere will love you. And we can go shopping in all the kinky Veretian specialty shops."

Laughing softly, because he was certain that Gansey would blush at that, if he was still awake, Laurent yawned, nestling close and closing his eyes to sleep. "Love you. My Gansey."

Oh, that made him chuckle. "I look forward to it. Especially meeting your father and brother." He wanted to know what Laurent's family was like—what his father-in-law and brother-in-law were like. And he wouldn't say no to checking out those kinky specialty shops, even if he did color lightly at the thought.

"Good night."

He closed his eyes as well and slept for two hours. Longer than he ever had anytime before one. But still, his eyes opened, and he spent a great deal of time listening to Laurent's breathing before he slipped away to sit at his desk with a small candle as light. Unable to keep his busy mind from reeling, he scanned over some maps and notes that had been dropped off for his viewing. His mother left a note saying she'd like to see them tomorrow to discuss the wedding and what she had planned.

Laurent woke feeling cold and lonely, and the feeling confused him at first. He could tell that something was off about the sensation of being cold and lonely, but it was simultaneously so familiar. He'd often woken cold and lonely. It was his default state.

Stirring, he blinked his eyes and tilted his head, seeing Gansey by the desk at work with a candle. It was a charming sight, Gansey hard at work, gilded with candlelight.

Dizzy with sleep, Laurent got to his feet and padded over to him, wondering if Gansey had found any more of his little notes. He looped his arms around Gansey's shoulders and kissed his temple, staring sleepily at the pages on the table. "What are you working on?"

When Laurent looped his arms around his shoulders, Gansey started a bit, blinking owlishly. "Oh! I'm sorry, did I wake you up?"

Leaning back to show his lover the array of papers on his desk, "Keeping tabs on what's going on in the capitol. Some feuds are going on, I'll have to head down to the outer farms and help negotiate some contacts between them and the smiths. And then there's the feuds between the farmers themselves—a stray cow, some acres of land, an issue with a marriage. I'll have to go settle those. A few foreign traders want to set up a permanent line so I'll have to meet with them too and work out some terms, as well as look at what they're looking to bring in and what they want in return."

Tapping his finger on another note, "My mother wants to see us tomorrow, too. I guess she's figured out the details of the wedding and wants to fill us in."

"All right," Laurent said, smiling and brushing his lips against the side of Gansey's neck. "We'll do all that tomorrow. I look forward to seeing Prince Richard governing and managing."

He nipped softly at the skin of Gansey's neck. As jealous as he was of Gansey's time and attention, Laurent understood that this was his duty as consort. This was his role here. Caring for Gansey, so that Gansey could care for the kingdom. "Anything I can help you with now, or can it all wait until tomorrow?"
